The video producer is responsible for the creation, distribution, measurement and curation of branded video and digital content via owned, shared and paid channels. Channels range from the award winning sc.edu website, to our top-5 ranked higher-ed social media accounts to state, regional and national campaigns. Responsible for the entire video process from start to finish, from scheduling through post-production, the producer blends visuals, music, audio and graphics to tell the amazing stories of our students, our research and our university. The ideal candidate will be a passionate self-starter with exceptional working knowledge of video production best practices. The position is perfect for someone who thrives during each stage of the creative process, with an out-of-the-box but within-the-brand mindset and a portfolio of sharp video work already under their belt.
This position will collaborate closely with many stakeholders in the office of communications and public affairs including, but not limited to, staff videographers and photographers, designers, writers and a team of talented interns, all ensuring that we are on brand with all content we produce. The ideal candidate will also be a deadline-driven, energetic multitasker who thrives in multiple priorities without requiring extensive oversight. The ideal candidate would have the ability to maintain the highest standards of accuracy and precision while under deadline. Excellent judgment, ingenuity, persistence, active participate in a highly collaborative team environment, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and 1 year professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience. A portfolio of razor sharp digital content. 3-5 years of experience producing content for a brand or organization.
Experience in cross-team collaboration and a demonstrated ability to work with others.
